Classics are lighter so better PTW ratio Newage heavier but has more refinement and Tecky bit to emprove Power and Handling.
Very hard to quantify I suppose you'd mean
Performance 1/4m Drag strip
Handling on a Track (would depend on track)
Mods 300+bhp is achievable with exaust, Tek3 remap and fuel Pump circ £1.2k if using Classic STi's (JDM) could be cheaper.
So as you see to many variables to answer you question's wholesale
Hope this is Helpful
IMHO

The reason why most peeps here don't like the "Versus" type threads is because
1) They are normally started by peeps for "other" car sites just to start a "Them versus us war" someone just put's a link "Look what the Scooby say about you" someone put's a link on here to the "other site" etc etc
Hey Hoo we start Car Web Site Wars.
2) Subaru's are not Very Fast cars as 4WD is a big drag on Power comapred with 2WD are regarde as better. In certain situations the gains of 4WD will be better than 2WD and Powertrain loses are more acceptable
IMHO IIRC
I own a Scooby because it's the Marque i wish to own and not because it's better than a Mitzy, Nissan, Ford or Supra

I've had a 2 classics, several legacy's and my wife currently has 04 WRX PPP, so strictly can't compare the GT4 WRC to a STi, but I did enjoy owning the GT4 more, was it necessarily a better car than the Scoobies, in some respects yes, and in others no, but in an ownership experience I enjoyed the GT4 more. Unfortunately my wife told me it was a safe time of the month, I believed her, and then 9 months later the car was too small, and you can't beat a scooby for speed and practicality.

i ment the Classic 1-6 STI.
thank you to all. the reason is that as my name suggests I want an STI BUT, from speaking to various people I have been told a lot of Bull, that the Scoob cant hold 300+ as the engines blow up where the GT4 will hold it (but being an OLD gt4 owner JDM 91 ST185, i cant see GT4's holding much more with that sort of power!)
so alot of people are chating bull to me!
I have always wanted a scoob, just the other option is the GT4, which are nice too!
I am not here to make any trouble at all, you can ask IAN (from sussex organiser) as he has met me and kindly taken me out in his WRX!
and dont worry anything said on here is for me and me alone! lol
cheers for the input
I am looking for a M/N reg STI. RA would be nice but i travel to Sandwich approx 100 miles a day! so maybe NOT!!!

st205 gt4's will just break 300bhp and 270-280ft/lb on std internals with a decat, exhaust, filter and 1.1bar boost, without any other ecu mods. 1.2bar will give you about 320-330bhp but thats about the safe limit for std pistons, and they do sometimes break above that (personal experience!)
brakes are 315mm all round, 4 pots upfront, 2 pot rear. std gearboxes and driveshafts etc are very strong, ie fensport still use a std box and shafts on their 600bhp corrolla.
as std the cars handle well, slight understeer, can be easily removed with a whiteline rear bar. 13.3s 102mph from mine in that spec.
lovely cars !

Mate you are so correct! a bloke is running 440 on standard internals and has been for a year! another 360 same!
but the scoob is something else! and can only afford one!
