Question

This topic has probably been done to death but as a newbie...

I have a 1994 4 dr Scooby (UK) which has the original "low level" spoiler. I have seen various more exotic looking creations on the back of other Imprezas and now I would like to change mine for one like the newer UK cars or even the "STI5".

There seem to be a mulitude of options from the various suppliers, some described as replica some not and a huge variation in price. Also the unit will need painting and I don't know how much to expect this will cost.

Advice will be gratefully accepted.

Cost £250.00 to paint and fit with LED brake light (painted metallic black). Hope this helps - may seem expensive but was done by a first class accident repair body shop, spolier was blue when it arrived and needed some work before black colour could be added.

Speaking as the proud owner of one, I don't think you can beat a prodrive rear wing. Okay, you can beat the cost but it looks the mutt's nuts.

pros: blocks out peoples head lights behind you at night
cons: can't spot the totty in your rear view mirror in traffic queues

oh, yes a big con: driving along the M4 toward the M25 doing a steady 98 (with the stereo on of course) and spot the flashing blue corona of a coppers flashers - had no idea how long he was there, but it must've been for a few seconds coz he was about 10ft from my boot! thankfully he was on official business elsewhere. In my defence, the sun was also in my rear view mirror (6pm).

True Grip is the excellent magazine of the SIDC (Subaru Impreza Drivers Club)

I'd go with the ProDrive wing, also as the proud co-owner of one - who needs a rear view mirror?

Also useful for hanging the washing on
