It was worrying me, cos she had not had a run in 4 weeks, and that was only to a local meet, I have an Astra for work so I can keep the Scoob as I intended, MY BABY

i took mine out for the first time in 3 weeks last tuesday. Went for a drive for a mate, both in our sti's, bit slippy but great for drifting around some 3 lane bends off roundabouts. Also managed to drift it around a roundabout until i came accross some anti skid! Good fun but bring on the spring!

RB5 lives in the garage most of the time.
sometimes i think its a waste of a car but then i think that i have halved my insurance for having it as social & domectic only and limited milage of 3000 miles a year (even tho the ins co dont ask for any proof of mileage.
only comes out for local meets really
but when i am out in it it just makes me appreciate it more for not driving it daily

Same here, car has been in garage for 6 weeks, struck it up last week after i did the cambelt, didn't take it out the garage though and probably done less than 1000 miles in last year.
And the missus cant understand why i'm gonna put some rims on it and have it remapped when i never really use it,women eh they just dont understand!!

Seems such a waste. A bit like keeping fine art locked in a safe or my mother-out-law who has a beautiful oak dining table, that no-one has seen since the day she got it. Keeps it under 3 tablecloths plus placemats & stuff. Might as well be made of MDF
Scoobs aren't classic vintage Ferraris, and minters will only fetch a few hundred more when they're 15 years old and the styling is as dated as Peter Stringfellow. You might as well get out there and enjoy the bloody things

Mine was ...
So I sold it last year. Sad to see it go but went to a good home and a friend. It was hopeless - I did under 1000 miles, even under 500 miles in the last two years of ownership - just no value for money and any spare time and decent weather = out in the westie!

i agree strongly to get out and enjoy them but unfortunatly work stops play in many cases ive only just got my 1st scooby but ive had my old "toy" being a cossie locked up in the garage for months at a time but when i was able to get it out for a play it was obvious why i had a toy even if i could only use it now and again

I had some major engine & other mod's done in May last year, and after covering a 1000 miles I need to return to have the oil changed & boost increased.
I've still a few miles to go before the magic 1000, so hopefully sometime this year I expect to be making an appointment with the garage involved.
I've not seen the car since December, being locked away safely in a nice warm garage.

Mine spent well over 12months in the garage doing eff all. Only ever took it out only for long non-work journeys, which was rare. Think it only covered 500miles between services at one point!
Sold the banger, got rid of the works car, and I use it everyday now. But will be selling up and going back to slightly higher class bangers, with the possibility of a group owned trackday car for the weekends
Still, how many MY97 scoobs do you see with 40K miles?

I'm the complete opposite. I use mine all the time. Done 4k in 3 months. Mainly work miles. The only problem is you do notice the fuel costs!! Luckily i get paid petrol costs!! Now thinking of getting a runaround. Less miles on scoob and more earning off company miles!!

Im in the same boat i must have only used my p1 about 3 times in the past 4 months !!!!!!! as i got an astra for everyday, to make thing worse i got my cosworth in the garage and that has been in there since last summer???
The p1 has had a new battery where it just keeps going flat all the time and it will not charge up....the best way to kill a car battery is to let it keep going flat all the time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only done 10,000 miles in the last 17 months in my 53 plate STi. Car comes out when I want to drive it properly, don't waste it on the traffic clogged run to work. Thats what the Turbo 4wd Celica GT4 is for

I used to use mine daily to go to work about 30 miles a day. Then when my job changed I bought an escort diesel as would be doing about 500 miles a week. I only use it on weekends now but boy do I appreciate it so much more. I dont know what to do to be honest as I dont want to sell it as it is absolutly mint and driving the escort all the time will drive me mad. But its cost. The scoob would cost me a fortune to drive to work plus I dont want to leave it where I work now as will either get nicked or keyed.
