paid £156 inc vat and a free hire car for my WRX 2003 at my subaru dealers and I think the body check is about £56 +vat but not worth it. The 10k service is only and oil change and a few checks so should be about the same for STI.Dont take it that all subaru dealers charge the same its worth a few calls and try get a price match. I saved £45 doing this

agreed, sob sob, try ringing round a few dealers, I was quite surprised at the difference quoted in service costs, plus if your an SIDC member with a local dealer you may be able to get some discount as well.

You could save yourself some money and skip the body service, just waxoyl the car this summer if it needs doing.
The body warantee only lasts 6 years anyway, and doesnt cover inaccessable areas that they can't reach to protect. Also the warantee only covers rot from the inside of the panels.
Just an idea.

Get the service done at a specialist. It'll be a lot cheaper and probably done with more care than the dealer monkeys. I always take my own oil (Silko ProS 27 quid) and OE filter (5 quid) and just pay for an hours labour.
Cheapest I found the body inspection was at KT Greens, Otley, Leeds. 45+vat. Phone around. Can't see why your local wouldn't price match another franchised dealer

body warranty 12 years on 04 models, so its all a question of whether you value keeping it etc. dealers i spoke to said it was a matter of customer choice, but if you chose not to, surprise = no warranty
