Default New STI owner, few questions.......

Ive been offered a dec 03 sti black for £15,850, i think its a great price am i right ??

Also just how juicy are these cars ? I know what you are thinking, if you want an economical car buy a diesel but what worries me is ive been told that they will only do 150 miles to £40 of juice...?!?!?! This is either bullsh*t or the car is constantly being ragged ??!?!

Please advise me on your experiences as I have only test driven 1 scobby and would like to hear from existing owners.

Cheers

do a search on mpg, there's loads of threads. I fill mine with about £45 usually, and get about 210 miles (plus or minus 20)

I've seen between 22 and 27mpg out of my STI, which is towards the good end of normal.

that doesn't seem that bad, i run a honda s2000 at the moment and on a good day 30mpg but when ragged down to 20.....

i love the car but spending 200+ monthly does'nt really appeal....

Best I ever got (out of my old Turbo 2000 - slightly less thirsty than the STI) was 33mpg, and that was during the Sept 2000 fuel crisis.

Normally you might expect 25-28 for a steady cruise, dropping below 20 for a B-road blast. It's normally worth it though I've been running a scooby 5 years now and its thirst just doesn't bother me. If it ever does, I just drive something else and it reminds me what I'm getting for the extra - besides Shell PlusPoints

The fact that you are buying a 14 month old car for probably £10k less than the previous owner bought it for tells you everything about residuals!!!

I got £16,000 cash from a Subaru dealer for my May 03 STI 18,000 miles. That ain`t a bad cash price at all.

My Feb 03 STI was p/ex'd in for 15k

on the forecourt for 19k now... so 16k is well cheap for a Dec 03 STI...

(£42 used to get me 220 miles)
