Default Naive?

New to this turbo game, and I thought it sounded just the job.
My WRX smokes slightly when I floor it, and the boost doesn't get above about 0.5.
Are either of these symtoms normal?

cheers

0.5 bar boost means you're ECU has probably gone into safe mode. Means you have a serious problem somewhere, a duff sensor of something. You need to read the fault code(s) from the ECU

"IM SORRY TO CHARGE YOU SCOOBY OWNERS BUT I HAD THIS PROBLEM AND SPENT OVER £1000 AT THE SUBARU DEALER AND STILL HAD THE FAULT. NOBODY KNEW THE PROBLEM AND NOBODY COULD FIX IT..."

......

"BUT I AM A MECHANIC AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH MY 1993 WRX AFTER 2 MONTHS OF CHANGING PARTS..."

What a chimp!

SUBARU ORIGINAL PART
hmmmm

Ok so I'm guessing Throttle pot or Coolant temp sensor (CTS). Maybe a long shot..maybe the MAP sensor or the change over soloniod (to read atmospheric air pressure instead of boost). And a last guess of the carbon canistor purge solonoid valve.

Unfortunately what maybe a "common" problem may not be YOUR problem with YOUR car. The same syptoms can be caused by almost any faulty ECU sensor/transducor or ignition component. So what fixed his car may not fix YOUR car (that one is a age old car mechanics law )

Just looking at another auction of theirs.

"SORRY NO PAYPAL AS IVE LOST TOO MUCH MONEY TO SCAMMERS AND FRAUDS"

I'm Just wondering how you lose money by using Paypal.

Back on topic: The symptoms can describe one or a number of problems. Why on earth would you think of sending them £50 for something it may not be?

Is she a lady mechanic? "IM A LADY AND HE TOLD ME TO ***** ETC"

He he...been looking at a few previous sales. At a guess I'd say the brake pads come via Part-Co and the seller works at or runs their own garage

Probably a legit person in terms of a seller, but to not to mention what they are selling in this sale is pure daftness - especially when they are in the car repair business themselves...what are they trying to hide?

Perhaps too scared that somebody could go to a dealers and buy the same part for less money?

Errrr exactly the point isn't it? Solve a problem then sell said parts for £50 quid a time to hapless individuals who haven't got the sense to tell the dealer "I'll pay you for fixing the problem not for telling me what didn't cure it!". Ergo S C A M.

http://www.ravensblade-impreza.com/m...paperclip.html

Guess it's one of these, A one foot long piece of wire, two inline wire taps, two resistors, some heat shrink tubing, and (for some unknown reason) rope.

Cool KNITTING CIRCLE

THANKS FOR ALL VIEWS, I AM THE SELLER ON EBAY -

I HAVE MADE A DEAL WITH A FEW MEMBERS - ANYONE IN MY AREA CAN BRING THERE CAR TO ME AND I WILL FIT THIS (NON ELECTRICAL MAIN DEALER) PART FOR FREE AND IF IT FIXES THE FAULT I WILL CHARGE £50 - IF IT DOES NOT FIX THE CAR I WILL NOT CHARGE A PENNY - BUT FROM READING ALOT OF HESITATION POSTS , I COULD FIX A HELL OF A LOT OF CARS AS YOU ALL SEEM TO BE BARKING UP THE WRONG TREE.
