Scoobyclinics inaugural Rolling Road day
Well, today has seen the first EVER Rolling Road day up at scoobyclinic, and what a day it’s been. Inspired by Scoobydee2s success of organising her first meet, I decided to give organising a Rolling Road Day a go. Hopefully it turned out OK?
I want to say first off, a huge thanks to Andy, Kev, Wills, Pat and Ads for a great (but bloody cold) day. If anyone else at the clinic was involved and I’ve not mentioned you it’s because a) I don’t know your name or b) I didn’t spot you while I was dashing about.
I contacted Kev and Adam soon after the RR was installed to see if we could hold a Rolling Road day for the local Chesterfield Group. They were immediately up for it and thought as we’re a small group it would be useful for the clinic to cut their teeth on for RR days. They don’t want to pile ‘em high, rush ‘em through - they want to go through the results with each owner and see where improvements could be made. And that’s exactly what happened.
I got eleven ‘volunteers’ to bring their cars up to strap down (and only one didn’t make it). First car on at 10:30 so I thought I’d arrive early (10:00) to get set up and organised. Beaten to it – ScoobyRuss and TRF were already there!
It’s been a great atmosphere up there with everyone having a laugh and a joke
Before I go through the results, I should point out we’re a poor, destitute band of northern oiks who have little or no mods made to our pride and joys – there was none of “my ***** bigger than your ****” going on.
So here are the results in power order with details of the car and engine mods only:
Cheesy 303 bhp UK STi 9 - PPP
Karl H 290 bhp JDM STi 5 – P1 ecu, full de-cat, panel filter
ScoobyDee2 277 bhp UK STi 8 – full de-cat, panel filter
ScoobyRuss 231 bhp UK MY04 WRX – Prodrive back box
Greenwithenvy 224 bhp UK MY00 Turbo – de-cat centre, panel filter, magnex 6x4 back box
Scoobimax 222 bhp UK MY99 Turbo – de-cat down pipe, panel filter, Jetex back box
TRF 221 bhp UK MY04 WRX – Powersport back box
Ubik 209 bhp UK MY01 WRX - de-cat centre, panel filter, magnex 6x4 back box
Matt-J-Scooby 205 bhp UK MY01 WRX – standard
DaftLad 89 bhp MY95 UK 1.6LX - induction kit & Magnex 5" backbox
Although on DaftLads third and final run, Pat weaved his magic on a re-map and squeezed 224 bhp out of the thing. A great cheer rang out through out the clinic. Trouble is Pats re-map was of the Rolling Road!!!!! I’ve never seen such a shocked look than DaftLads when that 224 first appeared – he took it in his stride though and the day continued.
Loads of photos taken that will take me ages to go though and upload to Photobucket, so watch this space.
Anyway, as you can see a broad range of figures but the most important thing is we all had a great day – or at least I hope we did?
Next step - group buy on re-maps anyone?

It was a fun day indeed, I'll upload some pics later (warning, they're BIG). Big thanks go out to all the "volunteers" for enduring the cold, and all the guys at Scooby Clinic for making it a memorable occasion.
Just a brief note regarding the "tweak" on DaftLad's car lest people get the wrong idea... this was just a bit of fun, and it's the only time we didn't run the rollers in "Shootout" mode, all the other runs (including the 89 BHP run) were done properly. The only time we'll fudge the figures is for a laugh, and then openly say that we've done it; it's also obvious from the graph since it won't have "SHOOT_44" on it.
Cheers,
Pat.

Great day, great people and great advice. A big thank-you to everyone involved.
Pleased with the result, next step re-map. Got a brilliant shot on video camera of Kev pointing at me and almost ordering me to have a re-map, "Yes Gaffer, when can you book me in". Better get ringing round for the best deals in loans.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and thanks especially the clinic for running the day taking the time to explain the figures etc.
Air Fuel figures were a real shock!
I will get my photos uploaded when my camera battery is all charged up again. One very full memory card.
James (GWE) - I will get the films of your run on a cd.

Thanks again to the clinic, you guys as always were very welcoming and friendly. Managed to keep patience with all our questions and went the extra mile (running around as you were closing up resetting ECU's, bulbs etc etc).

Hmm,
How much was it guys? Sold the STI recently and went to the dark side (FQ330). Just decatted her and dying to see what the results are.
Good looking pics BTW. Love the classic with gold alloys (OZ i think?), stunning motor m8
