WR1 ?
Are these cars limited numbers !?!? Either was i have only seen a couple on the road then yesterday i spotted one tucked away in a used car showroom. They must fetch silly money as this one is up for £27995 !!!
Whether it is at the right money or not, it has to be the best looking scooby yet !?!?

IMHO I do not like the look of the car at all. The best looking Impreza has to be the 22b, and good ones can be had for much less than £28k

Everyone take note :- No-one must buy a 2nd hand WR1 for at least a year. When everyone's so desperate to sell and the price plumits, then I can buy one Unless that is, Subaru launch a 2.5 STi with DCCD-A then WR1 prices will hit the floor

I'm not knocking what is a stunning car, which I'd like to own one day. Just the hopeful 2nd hand values which seem certain to take a battering sooner or later.

What surprises me is the number of low mileage WR1s that seem to be for sale on the Subaru UK website and elsewhere.
Perhaps the colour deteriorates with age.....

WR1 is an awesome car.... i just think it shud have been a less poncy colour....something a bit sharper and meaner....
"Hey...i'm limited and I mean business....get the f**k out the way"
That colour doesnt exactly shout the above does it....more like...
"Hi darlin, when your done, please move over"
IMO ofcourse.... but it does need a bad colour!

All for less than the 2nd hand stuff with limited warranty remaining, that has been used and abused by someone else, in a colour which is contentious (although I like it).

Do you know anything? How is the new STI cheaper than even a new WR1 in the same trim?
STI + PFF7's + PPP + Springs is not cheaper than a WR1 is it?
The WR1 has DCCD-A also.
And when you've put the PPP etc on your STI you've got a potential insurance headache which you don't have with the WR1.
Finally I think it's somewhat poor form to be wishing ill of other people's residual values... It's like me wishing that the dick would fall off your head

It amazes me how many people have failed to grasp mpr's point that apart from being a great car, it's cheaper than an STi with similar kit. In addition, being the it's technically unmodified, it's also cheaper to insure than a similar spec STi.
As for the next PPP matching the WR1, well I'd be a little surprised. Prodrive are far from stupid, and I suspect they wont try to match the WR1's figures. Choosing instead to play with the 2.5, as and when it arrives.
As for why there are so many WR1's for sale, well I suspect that some of it is down to the prospect of a 2.5 on the '06. In any case, I know it was far and away the best of the 4 Imprezas I had, and I really miss it. A feeling I never had when I parted company with my either my P1 or '03 STi.

UK 300 - Tell everyone there will be no STi then hey presto a couple of months later the Bugeye STi appears.
Bugeye STi - Pay extra for the Prodrive version then they bring out the Blobeye with all the kit on it.
WR1 - Release this as the all dancing Ltd Edition then a couple of months 05 STi with all the goodies.
Next will be the 06 then it will be.............
There's a trend isn't there, the only thing we can be certain of is that Subaru will always bring out a better version than the last so expect PPP to be improved as well.
