Default locking wheel nuts

has anyone had any trouble with the locking wheel nuts on a 03 and up impreza.

swaped rears to front yesterday and when i was doing up the last one the locking nut seemed to slip and seems to have rounded off the nut so i cannot do it up anymore. i think it is a tight as you can get it but now i am not sure if it will take it off. dont want to try yet as might not be able to redo them up again.
have looked inside the key and seems to be ok. but then so does the nut.
anyone have any idea how much a set of locking wheel nuts are from subaru. i still have the key code from the old one but if it is the nut that has rounded its no good to me. anyone one know whats more likley to go the nut or the key?
cheers for your help.
Bryan.

A new set is about £28 from Subaru dealers (at least for the '05 STI, I presume the '03 is similar).

I've done exactly the same. I thought it was just me being heavy handed.

You need to be careful not to overtighten locking nuts and a bit of copper grease on the thread helps to stop them seizing.

Best not to let garages/tyre places get the nuts on and off with a pneumatic gun as this wrecks them to
