Default Servicing

97 Turbo Impreza...comeing up to 50k mileage and due for 6 month service (bought it in October)

Dealer Wants £145 (that includes Vat, parts and Labour) - Thought was a bit steep myself.

I know the dealer is a good one...but even so....should I give, say Scoobyclinic a ring?

Scoobyclinic,

£145 is quite cheap though. I can only assume it's an oil change only service

Yeah it is. (oil change)

Booked it in now. Threre is still 6 months on warranty...and I want something else looked at. Was expecting less money for some reason.

Oh well, I know they'll do a good job. They better, I have to be up before 9 to take it in!!

Scoobyclinic next time tho!

Take your own oil and save £55...thats what my dealer charges for a 10/40 semi. I got 7 litres of 5/50 Mobil 1 for £17 at Asda....

Cheap, but not the ideal viscosity for scoobs, especially if you have a heavy right foot!
You can get mobil 1 motorsport 15w50 from halfrauds. Oil with a 5w? viscosity, is generally regarded as being a bit to thin for the scoob.
Just a piece of free advice.
