Thumbs up New Official Hants Dealer.

I got a letter today from Subaru UK stating that a new dealership has opened in Basingstoke.

Webbers, New Rd, Basingstoke - as from April 2005.

I did hear a couple of techs from Mill Lane were transfering across so hopefully there will be some familiar faces there.

Also this should give Olympian and Sparshatts something to worry about if Webbers are any good, I'm certainly taking my car there for it's next service as they can't be any worse than the other two.

Olympian's service manger has left/quit/sacked and at least he was trying to get things sorted, although my car that was damaged whilst in their custody has still not been repaired.

Interesting news - I have been travelling to Swindon since Mill Lane lost their franchise.

Webbers were a Honda garage, not sure of their reputation.

Its a shame it has happened just when I am soon out of warranty!

If Mill Lane were still good; why leave? Warranties arent affected by using non-franchised dealers now so.....

Interesting point Simon ........ if I needed to call on the warranty the last thing I needed was a debate with the warranty Department as they wriggled to get out of something on the basis of which dealer I used. Whatever the legal position was.

Simpsons of Swindon are excellent and the cost difference was minimal - Spar****ts are ... well .....

I see your point, especially as IM seem to be using 'Independant Engineers' to assess claims; who appear to see it as their job to find a reason why the claim should be declined.

Just my point, I liked Mill Lane - but wasn't about to put my expensive extra warranty at risk in trying to save a few £££'s and using my 'old' dealer.

Agree with Pete, Mill Lane were superb, but I can't risk any warranty hassle either.
Funnily enough I also found Simpsons pretty good, but it's just too far away.

I've been using SGT in Taplow who are excellent, Basingstoke is a bit nearer for me though so might give them a go

SGT Taplow had stupid Labour rates as far as I remember?

Travelling to Swindon was actually CHEAPER than going to Taplow!
