Failed my MOT on the Lamba Reading on the Emissions part (Obviously) The guy said it could be a simple thing like a pin ***** in the exhaust which causes the reading to be to high.
On looking at my exhaust when i got home, it looked like a culinder from the back of the back box, with a hole the size of my little finger!
Now i knew it was blowing, but had no idea it would affect the emissions!
how much difference do the holes in the back box make to the lamba reading?
I have consiquently ordered a new box. Last question, does the holy exhaust affect my economy?

i have had several cars that have passed an MOT with a hole in them,
one was the drain hole on the rear box, you could see the zorst comming out,
the tester stated it was not enough to fail and the emmisions were within spec.
ditto for an old volve i put through, it had a slight snort from a joint... passed again..
the only failure i have had is on the scoob, due to a leaky pipe join, once removed and a new gasket inserted, it was fine
