need to fit a wavelength converter on my doulbe DIN unit on a legacy B4.
Having problems with the trim. Managed to remove all the trim around the gear stick but cant get the lasy bit off which surrounds the stereo. Anyone had any experience??

Remove the ashtray from it's housing. This housing is held in by one or two screws in the top front edge. You can feel them with your fingers. The radio surround can now be gently pulled free. You'll have to disconnect the lighter wiring and lightbulb (twist) and at the top edge you find connections for the climate control. I pulled the pipe off and then could undo the screw holding the unit. Putting it back is easy except for the ashtray housing. There's a small notch in the housing that lines up with a raised plastic marker. Use this to line up the screw holes
