Default average MPG running in

22.25 Miles to the gallon while running in on two fill ups (exactly the same) hitting 4k RPM all the time whilst accelerating. Thought it would be worse than this whilst still tight.

Always bemuses me why people buy a car like an Impreza and then worry about what MPG they are getting............I wouldn't have a clue what my scooby does to the gallon and frankly i don't care.

1- Drive it
2- When its empty fill it up!!
3- Drive it some more.

Simon

Just wait till you're hitting 7k revs whist accelerating - then you'll have some interesting mpg figures.

How about £44 in 100 miles.. Mind you it was on a track day. Hehe.

not really bothered about fuel my old Clio Cup averaged about 28mpg, 34mpg on a long steady run (if you were really lucky) and about 18mpg if I had a fun day or two. So i would imagine a fuel bill increase of between 33 - 40%, so what, it's all for fun and the love of that feeling you get with your loud pedal burried in the carpet.

MY04 STI best is 28mpg with the rev limiter set to 2.5K on the motorway. If you start redlinning it, it is quite easy to about a qtr tank in 40ish miles - about 14mpg

WR1 running in best was 20mpg, it's settled down to 18mpg - and these are commutes to work down dual carriage ways for the most part - with a few miles of country lane ;-)

old clio 172 used to get 36-38 doing the same journeys (trip computer read out, but that was probably slightly optimistic)

Just a little.

Main "issue" regarding mpg with the STI is it is much more sensitive to the right foot compared to the WRX had previously. Would typically get 24 to 26 fairly consistent - best 30.5 worse 18.

On the STI you can visably move the needly (especially around the half tank mark) with just a couple of miles of driving.
