Angry Filling up - the trigger gun thing

Twas filling up my scoob on Sunday morning. Shell garage in Amesbury (wilts), and the ***king gun kept tripping. I couldnt penetrate , the little flap thing. Took me bloody ages to fill up, and my blood was boiling . Anybody else had this problem?

sounds like your not sticking it in properly

I've only had that once, if it happens push it all the way in, then pull it out by about an inch, worked for me.

Default Banjo playing on Deliverance - oh!

I have this with my civic - try angling the gun round to the side - usually, it goes at some point. If I do it normally, it clicks in seconds and can be a right pain.

Trem - did your mate manage to sort his banjo string? Thought I was the only one who used that term

Yep. The trick is to turn the handle 90 degrees so it's facing the back of the car. The nozzle goes in more and you can pump more fuel into the tank quicker.
And also overfill it as quick as well if not careful.

Are you sure you were putting the right nozzle in? The unlead one is smaller with a smaller hole to match so you can't put the right one in.

I had a pump down in Kent once, it must have tripped 30 odd times (about every litre or less) while filling up. It did my flaming head in

I agree, twist it left or right and it works fine.

But do you put your filler cap on the little clip thing?

Upside down works fine for me! Just make sure the rubber sleeve on the nozzle handle is still there or you will scratch your paintwork.

I penetrate at 90 degrees, no premature shut offs for me .
