parallel import
Hi,
I need some advise....
I have just bought an 04 parallel import 310bhp sti for a spanking price!!!!!
I have been told that this means that it is a UK spec car that was shipped to Japan and the shipped back to the UK as it was unsold. Is this correct.
Also someone has said that I need to make sure that the underneath of the car has been UK standard weather proofed. Would this have been done already?
The car is all HPI clear with no impoter record against it....
Looking forward to your comments

parallel import usually means that the car has been imported from another EU country (e.g. Japan-Belguim-England). Uk spec means it is identical to one imported directly to the Uk (right-hand drive!)

Parallel import should be full UK specification - i.e. just the same as the car you would have bought here, and made that way in the factory in Japan. Underseal etc wouldn't be necessary. "Grey" import means Japanese spec car, which could mean different power output (UK STi 04 was only 265bhp), and the need to underseal etc.
