Hi, I'd like to increase the boost in my 01 WRX. at the moment I have a Scoobysport exhaust, K&N induction filter and I'm having a SAFC II fitted in a week or two.
Oh and the other thing I haven't much money.......SO what will be my best option to increase my boost ???
Thanks for any help.

A Hybrid boost controller ( raises fuel cut, 2 selectable levels of boost adjustable in car, fast acting 3 port boost solenoid ) would work well, costs around £140 and pretty simple to wire in ( power, Earth, connect to MAP wire, swap over 2 hoses on boost solenoid and mount it in engine bay ).
I got 363 bhp with mine and exhaust, induction mods. A mate got 327 with less mods.
Really should have air / fuel ratio gauge first, and knock link, so can tell if you put on too much boost and are gonna blow it up! And if going over 20 psi fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator would be useful.
A good ECU remap would make best out of it, either TEK3 or after market ECU. But a bit expensive.
What is your exhaust? Just a back box or full decat?
Not sure if you would need the SAFCII if you got this .. but would help if you needed to change the fuelling so a good idea!

Yeah, the Dawes is a good gadget, once set up to your chosen boost it works really well, and a fair bit cheaper than an electronic boost controller., and not that much more fuss to change the boost - open bonnet, screw in or out, close bonnet and try it!
Still reccommend the AFR and knock link and boost gauges tho.

The one from JR is like a dawes, not so substantial from what my mate had, but works the same.
An original Dawes is better IMHO. But dearer.
Search on Dawes Device, should find who does them in UK.

Don't forget to check with your insurer before making any mods though, as the increase in premium might mean the upgrade will be uneconomic. Not declaring mods effectively means you are uninsured.

But other companies are not so enlightened, so as said above, ask!
