Default Spec B Corrosion

Opened the boot of the Legacy today and noticed to my horror that the car (2 month old and 2.5K miles) has got a number of areas that are starting to show a number of corrsion spots. Basically most of it appears to be eminating from under the rubber seal, but I have also noticed that it appears to be behind the light clusters.

Has anyone else seen this on a new Subaru and can anyone tell me what the appropriate course of action should be.

Hmm, I will take a look at mine later...

There was a long thread posted by 6Pot about the terrible finish of his 3.0R paintwork that ended with him rejecting the car.

My wheels have corrosion around the center caps, I never use anything other than Meguiars gold class car wash on them.

I think that thread ended up being vaped due to certain legal issues with it.

I'm now on my 3rd new Scooby (no Legacy's yet though), none of them have had any bodywork issues at all.

I'd take it into the dealers and get them to sort it out.

Yes dealer has asked to see it asap. The main concern is do I really want a 2 month old car repaired. This is clearly not stone chips which would be acceptable.

Had a good look at ours (5 months old) and can't see any signs yet. Thanks for raising the issue Catherine.

I have had similar sounding corrosion spots; where the boot lifts under the rear windscreen- to the far left & right, & one just appearing now more central. A Subaru garage has already treated the left & right ones- but here they are again! (01 WRX)
