Mine does not have a hump and there was no option of having a hump
quote from that thread from a guy who has an EU car from alliance..
I checked out the seats and in Cyprus (and most other EU countries), in a WRX you can choose between the side airbag seats with no hump between your legs (!) and the more supportive STI shape buckets with the hump.
In the UK you can only get the side airbag seats, which dont have the hump and are "wider" type buckets i.e. not as supportive in my opinion. This is probably done to make the sti type uk have better seats as another selling point over the wrx (not that it needs it.)

Are Humps UK spec then???
I have recently test driven a uk spec WRX 05 and it did not have a bump in the seat.
Intend purchasing an import WRX 'UK' spec from alliance which does have the bump.
The question is how can an EU import be classed as UK spec if it doesn't have the same seats i.e with airbag. Will this create a problem with insurers.
I'm sure when I sat in a UK spec 04 it had bumps
and so the debate it goes on

Most insurers only seem to ask if the car is modified and the word UK spec or UK car dont get mentioned.
Here's the link to the NU website:
http://www.norwichunion.com/car-insurance/filter.htm
Then click on: If your car is imported certain conditions apply
The 04UK car I test drove had no bumps.

My 53 plate MY03 Euro WRX has no hump!! These are known as sports seats as opposed to bucket seats...don't know wether mine have airbags or not.
When I bought the car, bucket seats were an optional extra...according to Well Lane were I bought the car from.

I have an 04 WRX wagon and the seats had NO hump. There do have airbags. They are also very uncomfortable on any distance. Took 'em out and put in STI seats. These have hump, no airbag and very comfortable. They are same length as WRX (i.e. a bit short), slightly narrower and MUCH more supportive.

Prob best bet would be to go for a full Sti Interior otherwise your gonna end up with the Blue Alcantara front seats only which might look a bit odd, seen some on here recently or ebay..
If anyone knows where you can get the bucket Sti seats in black with the same cloth as the My05 WRX I would be interested too

I bought a set of Sti Seats Fronts/Backs from JB Motorsport ( link below ) to fit in to my MY04 WRX. My car is WR Blue so the Sti interior matches well. It only took about an hour to change out the seats, left the original door cards in place. Did think of fitting MY02 seats, but as the car was new didn't want to fit 2nd hand seats. The Sti seats from JB Motorsport were from a brand new car being stripped for rallying, and found Jon Barnes to be a very helpful guy.
Changed the seats for the same reason, that we uncomfortable and unsupportive compared to my MY02 Bugeye seats.
Also try ebay, there is usually a selection on there for sale.
The only new style Sti seats in black that I can think of would be from the WR1, but these would be very hard to come across.

As far as I know there are two options- you need to specify which one you want explicitly when ordering the car: Airbag or non airbag equipped seats. The ones with the airbags (sports seats) are less supportive than the ones that do without them, which are the "bucket" variety. At least, that's what I recall from the brouchure.

I've not bothered...yet...
There are two ways - either use a 2.2 ohm resistor or apparently you can reset it via the OBD port (think its called Subaru Select??)
Be interested to know how to do this...

the task of remving seats is easy and easy done. disconnected the battery causing alarm to sound for 10 rounds
disconnected airbag cables, reconnected battery after half hour, no problems with tell tale light.
replugged the seats back in with the same process, no problems there either.
all i need now is some recaro seat frames. any got any spare?
