Default Standard Turbo Rebuild?

Hi,

My friend has just rang me and told me his boost is rising really slowly and blue smoke is coming out the exhaust when it boosts. Am I right in thinking this is the turbo? Could someone tell me roughly how much he is looking at for a standard rebuild on his turbo?

Many Thanks
Dan

Mine was done last year at a cost of £900.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to buy a new one??

I can't believe that reconditioning yours would be cost affective??

Not sure on that one Pete.

There is alot of work involved in a rebuild/conditioning.

There is about 15 items to be checked on a Turbo and then
after that it needs to have a Rotor balancing check.

Would certainly be worth looking at a new/recon off the shelf.
