I'm no expert but haven't they equalised the header lengths on the manifolds on the JDM? Your scoobs only sound so nice cos they run so bad on unequal headers the Japs have plumped for performance over sound in their own market.

I think.

They are much quieter due to the unequal length headers ... even the Spec C with no sound deadening is quieter to drive than my old UK Turbo PPP. Well, it was until I put a Miltek on it anyway

Spot on mate! Subaru UK have no plans as of last contact to ditch the unequal length headers for UK cars though. They know we like the scooby sound! Unofficially, they probably also acknowledge that if we want to liberate extra power there are other ways of doing it without loosing the burble!

I'm told that even without the burble the Scooby still sounds good though. Although I must admit that I'd miss that burble like crazy! Can anyone with JDM describe/put up a sound file for our benefit? What does the Miltek exhaust make it sound like?

Is there not some tie in why EU spec cars dont have the equal length headers and the later twin scroll turbo because of emission regs though........ dont think the sound and what we want is the issue.

Regards,
Shaun.
