HI, Being the idiot I am, I bought a used MOMO airbag steering wheel from eBay in an attempt to futher update the interior of my 97 Wagon. I took the airbag wheel (the horrid Subaru one) out no probs, following strict instruction regarding care of the airbag. I unplugged all the connections and came to test fit the new wheel...which went OK, until I came to refit the connecting wires, which are totally different. Anyone tried this mod at all or does anyone have the airbag wiring diagram? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Thanks

Bl'dy 'ell mate!....
I'd suggest you get your car over to a dealer pronto and get them to refit your old wheel! Sounds to me like you're more likely to blow your face off than improve the interior appearance of your car!
The SRS systems are extremely sophisticated and extremely dangerous and I would leave well alone!!
I know this isn't what you wanted to hear!

This mod has definitely been done so dont despair.
My friend who worked at Prodrive told me it wasnt a problem.
Unfortunately for you i upgraded my car from a 97 to a 99 before i swapped the wheel.
It may be you need to use the airbag unit out your old wheel or buy the airbag ecu for the new wheel. However, the way these things are triggered has not changed.
I would suggest seeing if you can find a friendly auto-electrician to advise you further.
Dont fiddle with it, you need to have advice.

Airbag ecu,s are not designed to be swapped vehicle to vehicle...
should there be an accident and the bag does not deploy, or deploys incorretly, it could be you life you loose...

McScooby,
As you're in Staffordshire too, I'd suggest you give Steve Gregory at Oaken a call (01902 844441). Oaken are my local dealer and have always looked after me and my Scooby's extremely well. Steve Gregory (service manager) is also extremely helpful and knowlesgeable.
Good luck!
