Feel a bit daft posting this...
I had a poke around in the engine, but didn't do anything.
Went to shut the bonnet, but it won't stay shut. When I close it, it tries to close, but remains in the same position as when you first pull the bonnet release wire.
I've tried being gentle and being a bit more rough (giving it a good slam), but no use
Any ideas?

Could be the HeatSink Effect of the Intercooler has warped your bonnet?? ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
Are you sure the arm is 'parked' properly?
Is the cable ok, not snapped??

Will it go to the full down position but not lock in? Try pulling the bonnet release cable while pushing the bonnet down. Obviously imposible on your own so some help will be required. I will keep thinking...

Well, I've managed to get it to shut now, but I can't open it again

Pulling the bonnet release lever in the car doesn't do anything... I guess that can wait until Tuesday though.

LOL - I didn't really want to call out the RAC for that, but I didn't want to leave the car with the bonnet half open either!

No need to call out RAC, bonnet is down now so drive to Subaru and get them to sort it. Dont want some grease monkey messing with it. I mean look what happened when you had a go.

I was gonna have a go at fitting a dump valve, but there was too many pipes and things for me to be brave enough to have a go... You can imagine what trouble I'd have got in - can't even shut/open the bonnet
