Default Advice needed - Any legal people in??

Bought my first impreza 6 weeks ago from a subaru specialist (Apparently) UK 2000 turbo - totally standard - Advertised as 1 owner but there was only a small section of logbook with it due to private plate change - When I saw the logbook it had had two owners (One of the main reasons I bought it). Also advertised with FSSH but the last one was 4 months over due.

Was told it would be serviced, cambelts to be done and have pre delivery inspection before getting it. No reciepts for service as it was internal but he stamped the book (i.e. legally saying he had done it in accordance to manufacturers recomendations) - Then I called him to ask if the oil had been done and it had not. After much arguing he serviced it to the 60K miles service (i.e major one). Stamped the book but again would not provide a reciept as it was internal - He also changed a tensioner for the air con which seized and caused the belt to snap. I know the air filter was replaced and the fuel filter as I marked the fuel filter with undercoat - the air filter is obvious. He also copper greased all brake pads so it looks like he had taken them off.

Now it has picked up a noise when cold and has been hesitating as threads in technical section. I have become worried about it maybe being piston slap but may be paranoid.

What would you do - I know you can get your money back in certain situations but I have had it a while now - I am so pi**ed off with it I would love to give it back to him!!!

He is a T**T too btw.

I feel sorry for you going through all that to get a car, it should be a simple process that goes smoothly, mind you we got rid of out 93 wrx in March and traded it in and bought a 51 plate wrx, we had to argue to get 6 months tax on it (we had only put 6 mths on our old one 1 week before buying the new one) so it only seemed fair, plus they said we could pick the car up on the Friday at 12.00pm, well they had test driven our old one and knew there was a problem with it but never said anything about getting anything done to it so on the day of picking up our 51 plate they turned round and said well we have a £500 deposit held down for the new car but they would not take our old car if we didnt give them £120 to fix the prob, by this point I had already forked out £90 to swap insurance over to the new car (3 days prior this was done) so this was at 1pm so the new car was in our name etc but they werent giving in, all week they told us our new car had been serviced etc but on the day of getting to the garage they had no paper work ready absolutely nothing so all week they lied, I told them if they wanted more money off us I would start taking things off our old car like the £300 and odd quid stereo we left in their, a momo steering wheel, gear stick and handbrake, well he didn't like that, in the end we gave them the money made sure we had every bit of paperwork and receipt possible incase there was a come back and eventually drove our car away at 3pm!!!, garages don't really care about the buyer they care about themselves and themselves only, they are thinking about booking their next luxury holiday while you hand over your cash. If I was you I would speak to the garage calmly about everything then if they are still being unreasonable I would go and seek legal advice.
