I`ve just read this one, and having collected my brand new WRX only 3 weeks ago, I`m now trying to console myself with the fact that I did, at least, get free servicing thrown-in.
Having said that, I would rather have had free PPP. Bloody typical !
Someone, no doubt, is now going to tell me that they are still doing the free servicing WITH free PPP. (For the sake of my sanity, please don`t, or I`ll be heading for the nearest motorway bridge....................on foot.)

Typical of UK dealers, I dont know why so many have loyalty they are bloodsucking tossers, they would have know all about this when they sold you your cars, they had to order in the ppp's.

They just can't win can they...
FREE servicing AND FREE PPP and people still complain..
Like all special offers and price reductions, they have to start sometime. And some people will miss out. That's life.

How could a salesman not have the courtesy to tell someone who is about to sign on the dotted line that if they wait a week or two you will get a free PPP ?
Subaru are not doing themselves any favours..

Just to put you in the picture,
MY DEALER DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS OFFER IN ADVANCE.
I had to let my local dealer know about this as they hadn't recieved notification.
I can't comment for the other dealers though.
There is also a further twist in the tail, in that currently to recieve the allocation of free PPP kits the dealer has to comply with certain criteria.
Not all dealers have the oppertunity to comply with the criteria, and hence will not get the free PPP kits.
If the criteria are changed then the availability of the free kits may be more evenly spread amongst the dealers.
You are not the only ones pissed off, so are a lot of the dealers.
Cheers

If you were a dealer and you had to make a sales quota for April would you tell buyers to wait until next month? Get real! In May you'll be able to sell loads more with the new incentive so why tell punters to wait.
I do, however empathyse with people who have just purchased thier cars and not received the incentives.

RJMS,
When Mike Wood phoned me on the 26th April re my PPP insurance letter I sent to Subaru/Prodrive, he said that there was something that was about to take place, but gave absolutely no indication to me as to what it was.
Perhaps it was the allocation of the free PPP kits.
So some people must have had knowledge of this offer, and that may include some dealers, but my dealer hadn't a clue.
And I for one am pissed off, as I would be sorely tempted into a STi MY05 in swap for my STi MY02 PPP.
Floyd,
I don't know wether the dealers have to try and achieve sales quotas per month, but for the allocation of the free PPP kits they were asked to register one specific vehicle.
My dealer, along with many others couldn't source one to register it, as the dealers with the specific car, registered it themselves.
Hence no PPP kits for them, at the moment.
Cheers

B'lox .. I would have waited a few months if I'd known this was going to happen before buying my WRX but using that logic you'd never buy another new car as the next one released is always better
What I am interested in is the insurance for PPP
Are these kits going to be fitted pre-registration so it doesn't affect insurance or has some special deal been put in place or is it basically still going to be a bit of nightmare to insure a PPP'd car.
Thanks to MTR it seems as though a few 'things' are happening to ease the insuring of PPP'd cars I just wish I knew what the outcome was going to be ..
Any ideas?

Thanks MTR .... I'd love to put PPP on my WRX but at the moment the insurance increase in putting me off (oh and the £1600 quid I'd need to buy it and the look on my wife's face when I tell her I've spent £1600 quid on something to make the Scoob go even faster ).

Fimo,
It would be a blow for someone to end up with a PPP specced ie 'modified' and ergo difficult/costly to insure car, for Subaru to bring out a 2.5L std car with the same sort of power and performance!! 300bhp ish and easier to insure.
Would they then be viewed like the Fiesta Flemenco etc (made up name I hope) parts bin specials, with colour coded whatnots etc.
We'll just have to wait and see.
Cheers

Spoke to local subaru dealer over the weekend, the PPP deal has replaced the servicing option. Salesman advised that Subaru approved (the insurance part) only increase the premium by 10% when the car is fitted with PPP - however, that doesn't add up to much if the original quote is uncompetitive - might still be worth a call though.

No. The kits have to be fitted post-registration, this is how the EU regs are circumvented.
