i think it could be worth a few quid to to someone with a scooby i have just had one valued at £1600 it is 626 UZ and that number doesnt even mean anything so you should do ok with that one.

Hard to value, it's a great number if your into the 555 thing. I'd be prepaired to give up to about £500 for it if I didn't already have one.

Off the DVLA cherished site later 555 WRX plates such as K or L would be about £250 but the D plates are generally £500. Bear in mind thought that price includes the £80 transffer fee so i definitely wouldn't pay more than £420 or you'd be paying more than buying it direct from the DVLA.

The 555 number with WRX should put the price up a bit. Theres plates out there at some crazy prices! But they're only worth what someone will pay for em.

I believe a lot of the 'specialist' number plate people sell on behalf of the owners, perhaps one of them would value it more accurately?

As above, 555 and WRX together are scarce as hell. There can only be one for each plate year:

A555WRX, B555WRX etc.

IMHO the most valuable would be post '93 plates like L555WRX and M555WRX with the rally association of the 555 sponsorship at the time. I would pay about £1,500 to get my hands on one of those or more if I had the money to burn.

The D plate must be worth at least £500, maybe closer to £1k.

Wonder how much L555BAT is worth Cant see Mr McRae being to keen to sell that.
