Default COOL or CHAV....?

Just been talking to a few friends about whats going to happen to my car next month, when i was, to my dismay, called a chav!!

The planned mods are the morette front lights and the matching rear colour coded ones, along with a full leather trim as shown in extreme scoobies web site.

Now these are expensive additions and are coming up to nearly 2 grand. but the last thing i want to do is ruin my car and pay lots of money for the privilage!

I understand it is my car, and my money and in the end will do what i want to, but being new to scoobyship i value everybodys opinion on this,

Blue 02 WRX

check bugeye corner in members gallery and make up your own mind. but blue colour coded rear lights look tacky imho having seen a lot of golfs with them in hays area, but its a personal choice at the end of the day.

Offered as a dealer option I believe; theres nothing wrong with a decent leather re-trim. If youre a so-called 'chav', a scrubber; then thats what you are irrespective of the seats in your car. Like I said; Id ditch your idiot friends if I were you...

Bug-Eye scoobs are the ONLY car i think is improved by a headlight conversion. as subaru made such a hash of the factory designed ones.

as for the rear lights, NNNOOOOOOOOO!!!

would normally leave it for people to make up their own mind, but you did ask!

as for leather trim, think it could look cool.

just my opinion obviously, but being a speed freak, i'd definately spend that sort of money on performance upgrades but as has been said, its your money, your decision.

have already got pretty much decat system just need t get decent back box as mine sounds like a kitten.

looking for the next mod now. might get a sti turbo as has been suggested. but am dubious as to how much power this would achieve and for how many headaches.

time will tell i spose.

Will start new thread for this turbo q i think

not one for the tecchie stuff TBH, though suspect you'd be right about the low gains with the turbo. how about a remap??

remap seems the way to go. does the remap alone alow the turbo to boost more as a full belt it only boosts to abou 0.9 bar. Subaru say this is normal but say it can safely boost to 1.3.

I want more of that pressed into your seat feel. would suffer lag to have a bigger whack.

i would suggest getting the headlights as they transform the bugeye and look good if the surrounds are sprayed blue too. and then put a front splitter on, really transform the look. drop it on eibachs and youll be looking at one nice car

you say that about prodrive, but for around 1600 which is what subaru charge for my 02 wrx is it worth it, surely you can achieve more than the expected 40 hp increase subaru quote. by other means.

Or not...

as everyone says it is my choice though

and my choice is to forget the rear lights now.

there is a fine line though between cool and chav i think, things sometimes start out cool till the chavers take it over then it just becomes pure chav. shame

Good man! Morrettes on the front of a bugeye look good. Fiddling with the rear lights is a bit naff if you ask me. The leather interior on Xtreme looks really cool, but as others have said on here, my personal preference would be to spend up to 2k on the engine/chassis/brakes. There are indeed more cost effective upgrades that the PPP, but its still a very fine upgrade and its trump card is that you won't invalidate an official Subaru warranty (if you have any of it left).

Whtever you spend your money on, enjoy it though. Scoobies are so much more reliable than mates anyway!

Best,

NS04

You could divert the saved money into suspension and brake upgrades. Power is nothing without control, and we all know that although fast, these cars don't handle too well in standard trim. If you haven't already done any suspension mods, I'd suggest talking to Powerstation with regards to links, ARB's and ALK's, and maybe consider some new springs. Better to be able to use all of the power you've got, than none of the extra you've paid a fortune for. Also look into uprating the pads, brake lines and fluid. If you're gonna make it quicker, make sure it can stop too

Front lights Bugs need it.
Leather My preference is handling over performance over aesthetics.
Rear lights CHAV !
