Default which scooby - advice

Hi , i am just about to start my new project , i have the same idea perky has, i want to do a mk1 escort with scooby running gear...

but as i dont know scooby's that well i was hoping you lot could give me some advice on which one to look out for..

i have a budget of 1600 quid to buy the scooby , so obiously it does not need to be driveable , eg can have crash damage etc , i was looking at 1994 WRX's , as they seem to be getting cheap.

i did see this on ebay :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...sPageName=WDVW

is that allot different to a WRX underneith ? i really dont know ... but could be a cheaper way to go... 200bhp is still good.

thanks for any advice.

Matt

You could look at Legacy twin cams as a slightly cheaper alternative...

Can I just make a suggestion...mid engined, rear wheel drive, mini pick up that's where my old impreza engine will be going when I can find a suitable donor chassis ie a really cheap, but basically sound shell

Pretty much, although there will be some subtle differences, the turbos will be different and so will the ecu but otherwise most of the bits will be interchangable.

It's has a charge cooler rather than an intercooler, but theres nowt to stop you changing that for an air to air top mount intercooler from any Impreza, or an aftermarket air to air FMIC
