Currently own a 1993 Subaru Impreza WRX, love it to bits, but recently the head gasket blew, so got it changed etc. Not impressed with the handling, must be something wrong with it, high cost of optimax, high revs for speed whilst crusing on motorway etc ........
WRX no doubt is better than the UK Impreza Turbo, however i have seen a good Impreza 1996 turbo with 57,900miles on cloch FSH for less that 4,200. Thinking of trading in and goin for the uk version, my question is what will i notice most?? Any advice help etc gratefully appreciated, thanks

Cant really comment mate as I have an WRX STi VerIII import... understand high running costs etc...
Have driven a few UK turbos though... compared to mine difference is indrediable... performance is most noticable....along with handling... general rawness of mine compared to a UK.
UK turbo is between 208-215bhp standard... wrx 1993 is 240bhp...
you will definitely notice the performance and general kick the wrx gives....
But as you say you have reason, motorway at high revs etc and fuel costs... Differences are probably not that noticable on an early wrx comapred to a 96 uk..
Sound an ok option really....

Acceleration and handling. A WRX is much quicker due in some part to its extra 20bhp, but mostly because of its much lower gearing. JDM cars also have thicker anti-roll bars.
