Default Differing power outputs???

I didn't realise that JDM STI's can come from Japan with 320-330bhp as standard. Does anybody know what they do the the engine to get the extra 50bhp???

Well you probably didnt realise this because its not true basically, the average STi will be pushing between 290 and 300bhp out of the box, the S202 and S203 will have more as they are 320ps, but you wont find a standard "normal" JDM STi with anywhere near 320bhp.

Tony,

Thanks for the reply. How does the person know that the car they are selling kicks out 320-330bhp as I've noticed a few around. Do you get a dyno graph when its imported from Japan.

No you have to rolling road the car, trouble is, is that no rolling road (different ones) will ever give you the same sort of reading, though the one i use has been very accurate over 9-12 months showing only a 3bhp difference on 3 occasions on my JDM STi, but if they have a graph, 1 run will mean nothing, you need 2-3 different runs on the same rolling road, and then some are known to be a bit..... generous.
