Japfest -- SIDC Parking, convoys and Show and Shine --Please Read
Ok guys and girls,
For all of you that are attending this show on Saturday could you please have a look at the points below and try and adhere to them as best as possible.
From experience it is quite a task to park up 270 cars in a short space of time, and so I'm trying to catch it early enough for it to be a smooth morning.
If you are travelling in a convoy to the event, could you please break up the convoy 10 minutes or so before getting to the event. So you go in staggared. Last year we had a convoy of 70 turn up and it was very difficult for us to park the cars up quickly. We also got in to trouble with the organsiers because we literally stopped the flow of traffic at the entrance, not good for the club.
If you arrive early---before an SIDC representative, could you please park in an orderly fashion, and if possible stay with your car until someone from the organising staff arrive. We may need for you to move your car again.
If your on Track PLEASE tell an SIDC organiser when they are parking you up. We are not mind readers, if you park yourself up and are blocked in, it's your own fault.
If you would like to attend the show and shine competition please inform an SIDC organiser on arrival (probably in a hi-visibility vest) and they will direct you to the correct place. I'm limiting entrants to about 30 (if we actually get 30), not everyone will be asked when they enter, It's your responsiblity to ask as early as possible. All Show and Shine cars will be parked together, as the size of this event makes it very difficult for the cars to be judged (Judges are volunteers) if the cars are all scattered out over the stand. In this instance you move accordingly or you will not be allowed to enter.
I envisage that we will be in the same place as the last few years.
With that in mind I would like to set out the marquee at the front as it was last year, with the show and shine cars at the front beside the marquee, on either side of the road/pathway.
Thanks, hopefully it will all go smoothly.
I don't want this to sound picky or anything, it will just help us out no end.
See you all there
Craig and Team.

Cheers Tiny. I know I can count on you M8
I'm aware that ESC have the biggest convoy, hence slightly concerned.
Therfore can I add...
Please park as fast as you can. No F*nnying around please. And park where your told to park. Not next to your mate who's 1/2 mile away.

I presume there's no problem with me turning up at 9.30am ish? I have an SIDC parking pass but have gone off the idea of leaving Swindon at 7.30am to join the convoy - especially if it's going to make parking harder.
The track briefing for the SIDC session isn't till 12 either....

Not sure whats going on yet (trying to organise Simon and myself is like two women trying to get ready in 30 mins ).
But if I go on my lonesome (and ultimately in the Spec C) have you got room for a lonely webmaster in your patch?
Regards,
Shaun.

Would it be better for someone to alotted/Mark off "An Area" for the Track session Cars (close to the entrance on one side) As you did for the Colour $ Shine last year
Even if you don't get blocked in it took ages to get from the far end and out to the Track.
