ScoobyShootout 2005- a question to those that ran..
Did anyone run with a 2L engine in the sub 13sec classes?
Just curious as to how many 2.2/2.33/2.5+ engines ran..
(mainly because I now want one thanks to you lot! )

as pi55ed as he might be, that has nothing to do with wether he had 2ltr or not

12.3 - wow. :
Warren just inched ahead of me last year I think one or two places.. got to mail him and ask him his spec
I must admit- nearly did 3rd myself, but went to 4th instead and buggered that run but hey.
it lives to fight another day

Bob, I found that after being able to repeatedly get a spot on launch at Elvington and 12.3 @ 118, I couldn't stop my car suffering from wheelspin and axle tramp that led to it jumping out of gear on three runs I tried at S'Pod only 2 weeks later...I vowed never to bother with another RWYB at S'Pod after that, despite Elvington being 10 times the distance away from me

It's where the wheels start to bounce because they are spinning so hard and yet trying to make traction, because the suspenion is pushing them down, the forces are so strong that the hub assembly and engine are twisting on their mountings and then springing back to their normal position when the wheel leaves the ground... on my car this resulted in the gearbox moving about enough for the shifter mechanism to bang against the transmission tunnel knocking it out of gear I've since swapped the engine mounts for something a little stronger...and will be looking at uprating the pitch stopper (link between the engine and bulkhead that sits under the standard top mount intercooler) for drag work!

Our car is still a 2 litre and ran 12.8 at 106mph, even with 19 inch wheels on it. This is proof that you can have the looks aswell as the power.
Maybe with 17s on the times may increase, any suggestions?

Style is for the street.
Shootout is all about the racing. (look at non-bling ness of the CRD car for evidence! )
