Default Comma air conditioning cleaner

I was in a local motor factors getting some bits for my daily hack and noticed they stocked Comma air conditioning cleaner, which the owner highly recommended.

I've been pondering whether to try and thought what the hell... it's only a tenner.

My Forester has done 100k before I bought it so potentially there are 100k worth of germs in the AC!! It also had a slightly damp smell when running.

It takes 10 minutes to do and I've just run it through the system.

It claims to eliminate baterica, fungi and viruses that cause unpleasent smells and allergic reactions, as well as deodorise the upholstery.

The interior of the car smells new again and I'll probably go back to get a few more to do my work hack, my brother's car and my parent's car.

I guess they can't make these claims if it doesn't actually work!

Has anyone else used this product?

Looks like this: http://www.commaoil.com/Product%20Pa...irconclean.htm

Start the car, close all the windows, switch the air con on, switch it to the maximum fan setting, set it to recirculating, set off the canister (place in the rear passenger side footwell) and leave it for 10 minutes.

That's it.

Tried it and was great for about a week. Then the smell came back. Finally traced it to a microfilter and changed that. Car was excellent after that.
Microfilter cost £3 and think the aircon stuff was over £7 so check your filter first.

Halfrauds sell the Comma stuff (usually). I used it in my old P1 once and was amazed at how well it worked, so when I picked up my Type R I immediately bunged a can inside.

It's weird, it just sterilises and kills all odours in the car. So it just smells clean and fresh but without any overpowering masking fragrance. I have another can in the garage to put in the car soon, I plan to use it fairly regularly (2 to 3 times a year) to keep it smelling nice.

Blinding product, only about £11.

There was an article about aircon in one of the motoring magazines,

apparantly if you smoke, and set the recirc option on your aircon, the smell cannot be removed from the aircon system, and a new reciever dryer is the only way to get rid of the odur!!

It was on my BMW, not the Scoob. Don't know if the scoob has a pollen or micro filter.
