Scooby review on PHeads.
This is a great review, but one thing confused me....
http://www.pistonheads.com/doc.asp?c=47&i=10486
Under "handling"...there is a bit that mentions the car has electronic traction control.
and that it can be turned off..
Am I missing something??
I cant seems to find a button in my car?
I was under the assumption that there was no TC.
All i have a is a button for the C Diff set to auto or manual

The classic shape car had it down by the heater controls, all it did was alter the brightness of the clock in the dash. Newer cars don't have it - it was totally useless.
The only electronic TC on any scooby is the DCCD-A on JDM and '05 Euro STIs, and it can be switched between auto and manual, that's all.

yep the bright button does still exist on new age cars it has just migrated to the left-hand stalk

A useless bit of trivia.... and nothing to do with TC....
Newage brightness switch (on the stalk) controls the brightness of the clock, the odometer...... and even the outside temp gauge!
Did you also know you can adjust the brightness of the standard stereo by pressing and holding the right hand 'large ****' down for 2 seconds.

It loses 1 mile a second, so a 60 mile loss takes 1 minute, 3600miles over 1 hour .............. hardly worth doing (but, I suppose if you taped the button in overnight, you would lose 28,800miles in 8 hours!!)
But, like I said - not many could be arsed?

WTF have they slipped in your drink this evening?
I stand corrected on the presence of a 'bright' button on the newage car; my car has 5 stage variable illumination for all the dash clocks, but that's a unique JDM feature. I didn't think the UK car had the switch at all any more.
There's still no TC in the traditional sense on any scooby, though - just the active centre diff on higher spec STIs.

Should be doing a track day in the scoob in a couple of months, so I will write a report on how well the Active diff works then.
