Default Do you know anyone who never uses their scoob???

Do you know anyone that is too tight to run their Scoob.

My buddy has one and i swear it sits on his drive for weeks at a time gathering dust i mean its not as if he is skint or anything but he hardly ever drives it. It seems such a waste (in fact why dont you sell it to me Paul LOL!)

Hopefully i will be getting one this year and i could not ever see myself out of it.
Even my last car was a thirsty old barge and i used to put £30 in it and go for a drive just for the hell of it!

(No doubt gill95 will respond very shortly as he tracks all my postings)

Put some fuel in Paul you tight ****!!!!

Blimey - I've done an epic 94,000 miles in my WRX in two and a half years, plus zillions in the Sport.

My MY00 has done 36k so far. It comes out on high days and holidays.

I want to keep it pristine. Its my hobby and that's how I justify it. I have a econosh1tbox to do the commute in and I don't feel the least bit guilty putting miles on that car! Some twerp in his new Stilo thought he'd cut me out of a queue this morning - he'd hadn't thought that the sh1tbox will ALWAYS win...

In the last 3 years my car has done about 5k miles...before that it was my daily driver and had covered over 85k since I bought it new in '98 It's also worth noting that it's been in pieces for 21 months (and counting) of those 3 years...I now insure itt on a 4k miles limited milage policy which means I can run two cars for the price of one

tim, if youj were really smart you would insure it with privilege for accidental damage and theft only! that would save you even more, and when it does go again, you can just call up and reinstate it to its previous level of cover.

Thats what I did when mine was at bill gwynnes.

Cost me something like £70/year

Adam, I'm not worried about the insurance at the moment what I meant was the combined total when I was running both cars was significantly less than the insurance cost of running the scoob alone.

Since i got a daily run about (which i have now broken opps!) last month my Scoob has done about 15 miles. And will now only be used at weekends when going to meets etc, or when I want to use it, to keep the mileage down on it, as over the past 12 months it has crept up to 42k on my MY00.

When I got my MY99 it had only 15k on the clock. That was the best part of a year ago, it now has 18.5k. It's a play thing, I let the train take the strain and just spoil the car to bits!

Whe I had a Focus RS, I was talking to a guy who also had one and he was shocked that I dared use my car every day, rain, hail, or shine. He only drove his on weekends, and then only when it was bone dry ????????? Whats the point in buying a nice car then never driving the damn thing. The way car depreciation is, I dont think it matters what milage you have on it. Dealers just give you bottom price for the age, never the milage. Gone are the days of less milage = more money. Cars with really high milage are the only ones to really suffer. IMHO.

I think its true that a low mileage on an old model won't necessarily get you a much higher price than a good condition one with average mileage. You might as well get out and enjoy yourself in these things. World could end tomorrow! I've stopped putting mine in the garage now cos I found once I'd polished it and put it in there I didn't want to get it out to let it get dirty (I believe quite a common subaru owner condition). Do about 15,000 miles a year. Much better for your engine than sitting at home.

Well Carl (the chief), looks like most people are on my side and have the same habits as me.

I've got service, mot and insurance all due in august and I want to make sure I have the funds to keep it going another year . I do generally drive it at weekends if it isnt raining.

And it doesnt gather dust because its under a car cover It gets cleaned almost every other week and is driven at least once a week.

And you will not be getting a scoob this year my friend, that I can tell you for nothing ! ! You must have brown eyes, because your that full of $hit . We can only sit and wait to see if you do get one, this century.

I know, I'll start a thread called "Do you know anyone that keeps saying they will buy a scoob, but dont ! !"
