Thumbs up Hot Day = New Car??

Theres me thinking that the best day for power was a misty, cold morning in winter with the air cold and damp!!

Why then does my car today fly like a bullet??

No hesitation at the usual 3000RPM - just pull, pull, pull, pull!!??

Amazed (and delighted!)

Now, we'll get some smartarse saying that its the classic sign of a failing MAF

Also, my 'make believe' CockLink was not showing ANY lights whatsoever!! But then, its not wired up to anything (as much use as the real thing then!!)

Heat aiding fuel vapourisation? Humid day hence better ignition advance?

Failing MAF?

hesitation at 3000 rpm? MAF or boost solinoid. Also as you have a MY00 your ECU is the 'poor one'

Really, this isn't a joke .............. its driving like an absolute dream!!

As a MY00, it has/had the characteristic hesitation between 2500 and 3000RPM - that was completely absent today!!

Wonderful!!

My wrx felt quite perky last night with outside temp showing at 23 deg c. Just me in it though. Air con is a drain on the power too don't forget.

I had to fill up with normal unleaded last week and it was not pulling cleanly, occasionally miss firing etc.

Pete, perhaps you bought some decent petrol for it, for a change?!

The Carlube in the sump has thinned out so much, it's not absorbing any power?

failing MAF plus knackered knock sensor = fast for a while followed by kaboom. Good Luck trading it in after that

I just love those who mod their cars to extract 30BHP more and then turn the AirCon on and drop 30BHP!!! Ha Ha Ha Ha!!

Maybe, mine, without 'girlie' AirCon was beating all the modded Imprezas because I had no AirCon draining my power??

But it has a clutch allowing the ECU to disengage it when you put your foot down, so no loss of power and a nice cool relaxing drive

You mean to say that you were so cheap you didn't even specify air-con on a new Impreza All the best Impreza's have it. Good luck come re-sale time, most would chose one with it on as opposed to one without. I did

I have to say I noticed similar yesterday (MY99) - not good when stuck in traffic but on the open road it was a lot quicker than I had expected ferrying kids to/from Green Day at MK (Sensible overtaking only I hasten to add ). Maybe there is something in the humidity factor.

And all your seals will now dry out and you'll have to get your whole system recharged
