Default What if you don't drive WRX for a week?

Hi just wondering if it is ok to leave a MY05 WRX for a week without driving it. Am going on holiday and wonder whether the batteries are ok its a new car so hopefully it should be ok but would welcome any info about how long people have left cars without probs. In aprticular I'm wondering if the alarm/tracker will be OK.

Buy a trickle charger from Halfords and leave the battery on charge. Make sure the charger is one of the "intelligent" types that will close down when the battery is fully charged else you will come back to one fried battery and the smell of rancid eggs that you will never be able to get rid off!

Not being funny but if you cant leave a 2005 high volume production car for one week without it not starting when you turn the key then its a bag of ****e.

Go away enjoy your holiday and dont worry about your car.

Gary

ps,leave the trickle chargers to the people who drive TVR's only in the summer and others who dont use their cars for weeks and weeks on end

you'll need leave the car on axle stands, and do an oil change on before you use it.

Are you two joined at the hip (Gary and David)? Or a double act?

I left my MY93 for 2 months inside in winter and it started first time when I decided to use it again. Not a cough, not a splutter. Like it had been used the day before.

They knew how to build em back then

I'll be there the last couple of days in August and the first few in September too.... If you're there then im sure we can get amongst it

I'll have a crack in the pug first and if that dont work the scoob will have to make a special guest appearance. Have to be early on in the week though as the brakes will be juddering like manic things after a day or two poxy heavy jap crap

I've left my '03 sitting for as long as two weeks before without problem. At least I don't think my fiance drove it while I was gone....

No, I'm kidding, I know she didn't - I checked the mileage

My 05 WRX was abandonded for 18 days when I went away; started like normal upon my return.

If you get bored of the power and handling of your scoob, rent a dodgy american auto barge for a couple of weeks - makes the scoob feel like a WRC car!

Oh, but I don't have a tracker fitted just the standard UK alarm etc.

My My04 STI only comes out of the garage ay weekends. Sometimes its there for 10 days in the winter. Every time I go to start her she fires up with no problems.

A week? hmmm

My car rarely gets driven during the week and is fine. If you can't leave a car for a week then its a bad situation. I would only worry after an month or so.

If I were you I would panic bout it getting nicked
