MY06 2.5 or 2.0?
Reading Autoexpress this week they once again stated that the STI would be a 2.5.
From what I've been told the UK spec STI will feature a 2.0 when released in September.
Will there be two version of the STI?

There will also be a n/a 1.5 Sports wagon available for those who want to go the other way

I meant to say that there was no point having the 2.5 turbo over there if you're stifling the power that much.

Well reading the japanese Subaru website.. the car released there for the 2006 Model year is a 2.0 Turbo.
Autoexpress have always been good in keeping the facts out of a good story

I'm thinking about the spec of cars someone like Alliance Car Imports will be importing from Europe.

My Subaru dealer "thinks" the UK STi will be the 2.5 with "up to" 350bhp, time will tell!
Given the looks of the 2006MY I'm very glad I bought a 2005 STI PPP

Theres a review of the Japanease STI in this weeks AutoExpress.
Gets 4 out of 5 and says a 2.5 will be available in the UK. Sounds like they also expect a 2.0 STI as well.
New interiors shared with the Saab 9-2x.
They expect cars to be available in Decemeber.
When I spoke to Litchfield they said September.

I sure we'll see the Forester before it was intended to be launched due to the fact that they've nearly sold out of this year's new models (so I'm told)

Have Litchfields confirmed wether Euro/UK 06 will get a 2.5 sti ?
I assume 300bhp should n't be too much of a problem with the US model pushing this out on lower grade fuel.
Are US emissions more relaxed than the latest euro emissions ?

06 Face lift! What the F00k!!
Fell in love with the classic, bought a bug eye, er...got used to it, now have a lowered 18"d '05 WRX that I think is just right.......and then they go and do this to us!!!! I believe the bug eye was designed in Japan and was face lifted by the same bloke that designed the McClaren F1, or something! Are they gonna have to do the same with this one or is it just me?

Read that very carefully and you will see allegedly there are going to be two 2.5 models, WRX and STI maybe ? 226 and 276 bhp respectively.
Reads to me like the STI will be a detuned version of the US model currently on sale, no twinscroll setup in other words, and no fancy heads and cams as fitted to the JDM models.
As it has to meet the new emissions regs too, I wonder what it will actually drive like ?
No doubt the PPP will be available, will be interesting to see what they can safely get out of that setup. Maybe not as much as many people are thinking at the moment...
