Getting Stopped More Often
Picking up my 1st Scooby next week, can't wait.
I have been thinking though, have people found that they tend to get stopped more by the police whilst driving a Scooby, I'm sure I've heard that Impreza drivers experience but this was a few years back when they were a bit more of a novelty.
I've always driven Q cars and am now a bit concerned about driving something that gets traffic cops all excited.
What are people's opinions?

If you drive with 4 mates in the car, music blaring and wearing a burberry cap, expect to get pulled quite a lot.
You didnt mention how old you are mate, will make a lot of difference.
I have been pulled loads of times in mine, but normally when ive got a few pals in the car, i did keep asking why i was pulled but was told its an expensive car and im a young bloke.
The funniest was when i was informed by a young copper "well its a bit of a gangsta's car mate!!" lol
Then again normal driving with just one or two passengers, and without a very lary back box you should be fine.

Getting stopped
My mate warned me about this police hobby before i bought my scooby at the weekend. he's been stopped once for 'pulling out of a junction quickly' when no other cars about in the late evening! i have been driving a lot slower in the scoob than in the old fiesta and i'm always on the lookout for plod. enjoy a bit of fun on roads with higher speed limit though!

Stopped once in 18 months - that was at 5am in the morning (I work shifts)
There had been a few car thefts locally and cops were patrolling and I was pulled because of the time and what car it was. Routine check, friendly cop, was away within 30 secs after checking details.

Why would you get pulled? I hardly ever see a plod car, let alone have the oppertunity to be pulled by one! From what I hear, they're all to busy out on 'car evaluation drives' to bother with menial stuff like that; what do they do that can't be done by some faceless camera anyway?

i used to get pulled all the time in my metro when i was 17, a few years ago now, but not been pulled in any car since, vtr, fto, scoob.
dont really know how they decide who to pull, i usually wear caps and sunglasses, cos i m a gangstaaaar, maybe they are just bored or realise they are not going to get any stolen property back any way so dont bother looking for that.

3 years of ownership, got pulled once when another driver on the motorway reported me for dangerous driving because I dared to flash my lights at him when he was sat in lane 3 with lane 2 completely clear. Coppers apologised for the inconvenience and told me they thought my driving was fine
In fact, you're more likely to have problems with drivers of other cars who are either jealous or have a chip on their shoulder, ranging from verbal abuse, hand gestures, flashing their lights at you because you dared to overtake them and in one case an off-duty copper who decided to accelerate while I was overtaking, then blind me with his high-beams and fogs.
Have fun and ignore them.

I pick up my first Scooby today! Must admit, after reading some threads on here I have been concerned about increased attention!
I am 34 so hopefully this will put them off!

Got stopped for the first time on sunday afternoon, but it was in Brisbane driving a forester XT, thats now after 6 3/4 years of Scooby ownership, 6 in the UK driving UK Turbo and a UK300, so once in nearly 7 years is not bad.
Stopped by a Queensland Copper roadblock and given a RBT (Random Breath Test for us Poms) it was of course negative sent on my merry way (pardon the pun).
Chill out, if you look shifty you will get pulled.
Cheers

I think you get looks from police travelling in the opposite direction, but just looking to see if you look like you've just nicked it.
As long as you don't wear a baseball cap you should be alright.

Had Scoobies since I was 25 (with a brief 1 year break for a Civic type R). 1st one had mod back box and current has PPP. Only been stopped once and that was a fair shout as I did come off a roundabout rather quickly!
Had a couple of follows en route to Matlock (A6 - Bike country) but just immediately pull over into the nearest parking on garage and watch the disappointed little tw@ts pull off and wait for the next car they want to follow to get any excuse for a once over.
Incidentally - never got stopped in the CTR despite it being a 30 Anniversary car which had rear tints as standard.
