Hi all,
I found this on a web site, I have an Nissan Almera its my day to day car and thought if this works it be a bit on fun, the site say's 20bhp add on, Does anyone know (a) does it work and (b) how much damage to the engine is caused.

Its basically a resistor that fools the car in to thinking its permanatly on 'cold-start' so it over fuels.
Bit like a FSE power boost valve but non adjustable. I wouldn't personally let it anywhere near my car. All IMHO!

As VWScooby says, it connects in series with the engine coolant temperature sensor to trick the ECU into thinking that it is cooler than it really is, which in turn makes it enrich the fuel mixture.
These things are total cr@p and, whilst you might get a couple of BHP improvement - IF the inlet tract can provide the air to burn the extra fuel - you will probably achieve the opposite effect, and could potentially damage the engine too (an over rich fuel mixture can cause carbon deposits on the pistons which, if there is enough of it, and it gets hot enough, will melt a nice hole in the piston crown for you). Oh, and your emissions will be screwed too.
