Question Why do people do this?

Had to call out a flatbed recovery truck after my gearbox went bang on the weekend.

As the recovery truck driver scraped the car onto the flatbed he asked how many litres it was, to which I replied 2.

He replied "....I've got a 3 litre twin turbo"
I replied "on which car?"
He replied "an Impreza"
I replied "I didnt know they did a 3 litre" (99.9% sure of it)
He replied "they dont in this country but I had it imported from Japan"
I replied "oh I see" (not believing a word of it)

Later on the journey I baited him further...

"how much power does it have?"
HIM: "412bhp"
ME: "nice, how much torque"
HIM: "erm...cant remember but it does Santa Pod in 6 seconds"
ME: "nice, what gearbox does it have?" (thinking what a clown)
HIM: " oh, standard"

I left it at that. Cant believe the bull**** he was coming up with. The only thing I said about mine was '2 litre'. If people are going to bull**** its worth them finding out how much the person at the receiving end knows. Couldn't bring myself to go any further as I kind of felt sorry for the clown.

So funny

Question

i had the same a few years back mate. Some kid tried to tell me that he had a Renault 5 Turbo With 10, YES 10 Dump Valves Under The Bonnet.

Only Bumped InTo Him THe Following Week In His Car. Would He Open HIs Bonnet ??? "Would He F**K" !!! Come Out With A Minter That His Bonnet Cable Had Snapped 20 Minutes Before !!!!

Why Do People Talk So Much Chicken Soup And Think They Can Get Away With It ???

I've had people do this before and I find it embarressing and irritating that they think I'm so stupid as to fall for their ****

These people are inadequate in some way and probably lie all the time to try and build credibilty with people they aspire to IMO.

**** me, that'd take some impressive gyroscopic forces from the engine to literally throw the front end in the air!

The guy must be a mechanics genius.

I'll have to put my dads FWD rover in reverse and see if it can manage a wheelie?
