Would you believe this s4it, I'm driving home from work this evening, not even going that fast, about a mile from home this friggin kamakazie pheasant decides to fly out in front of me, hits the front edge of the bonnet leaving 2 dents about 10mm deep and 300mm long (must have been its legs) serves it right
it then maintains the same flight path and rips the scoop straight off, just to add insult after it rips the scoop off it smashes into the screen straight in front of me and empties its entire body cavity of vital organs, this then goes up over the roof and wraps itself arround the rear spoiler
So the question is can the ally bonnet of a MY05sti be repaired or will it be a new bonnet and scoop, if so what will this cost?? has anybody else had a similar experience, I mean pullin the birds is one thing but this is down right fookin stupid, oh and in case anybody wonders it was a ****!
A good body repair shop arround Leicester/Loughborough is needed any recomendations would be greatfully received.

A few weeks ago I was driving my 05Sti to work at around the 70 limit, when this massive bird flew straight in to the front of the car. It all happened in less than a second and I persuamed the bird went under the car as I didn't see it fly over the bonnet area.
Anyway, I opened the bonnet the other day to check the oil and low and behold, there it was lying splattered on my Sti logo and its feathers were all over the engine. It had entered the bonnet scoop at around 70 ish mph and had left me with massive dents to the intercooler.

At least the fox I caught at 50mph only hit the splitter and bent the rad piping on a previous car - expensive but less of the repainted underwear

just think of the mighty whiff that ex bird will leave if left to "fester" in warm weather and if it's not all cleaned out...

oh and I hit a deer whilst test driving a VX220 a couple of weeks ago, luckily, the car to the side of me had the most damage as he hit it first, I just got sloppy 2nds.

Ok,
Iv'e found out that the bonnet can't be repaired, so the cost of new bonnet + scoop painted and fitted will be:
£700 + vat
(no mods this month) not worth claiming on the insurance as the excess is £500 and although I have protected no claims, I understand from talking to the insurance company that you are only allowed 2 claims and then you loose it anyway.
So be warned don't mess with pheasants as they will pluck your car up!
