Also thinking about a Ninja - is there any point in buying the centre-section for a new-age if it doesn't remove any of the cats? Is the back-box on its own enough to give a few extra HP? (Plus a filter, obv)

H&S make the vortex according to the scoobyworld website. It doesn't say who makes the Ninja.
I can get the H&S supplied and fitted locally, but the Ninja would need to be ordered in and then I'd have to find somewhere local to fit. Which wouldn't be that hard really, but I'd like to get it all done in the one go.

Hayward and Scotts website says they can 'tune' the exhaust to sound pretty much how you want it so it might be worth giving them a call.
Have you considered a Prodrive backbox as they give a nice rumble without being overly loud?

Got it on my MY05 WRX looks the dogs danglies, but doesn't sound
loud in the cabin at all, but gives off a nice sound when you squeeze
the loud pedal

Lets not enter the warranty debate but watch out for insurance issues - Direct Line count it as a mod. Honesty could pay when the need arises etc.

The Ninja is made in Japan, they don't say by whom, but by a manufacturer who make for many big brands....rest assured the build quality is great.
I have the afterburner centre section on mine purely to remove the resonator box so it's a bit louder....don't know what BHP claims they make but without removing any of the cats i can't see it could ever be more than 5 tops, just cos the flow is a little better.
Get a full decat, you know you want to

Liked my H&S handmade, great quality ; considered ninja. I had ~3.5-4 " (exit)- too much after a while ( nice tho). Id go for stainless 2.5 "(exit) or similar if i were to do it again ( the car actually makes all the rumble you could want without too much enhancement).

Either option sounds like a winner. Now which one to go for!
Actually, I like the angled exit on the H+S, think I'll have one.
