From: 1600cc's of twin scroll fun :)
Its not about BHP, its about drivability.
You could have 600bhp and the car drives like a dog, or you could have 350bhp and the car flies, if your doing drag strips then bhp is what you want, though Harvey's cars are pretty powerful and drivable

IIRC Harvey's car peaked at 618bhp. From what I've seen he adjusts the map to suit, so drives it around in granny mode at around 400, switches maps for RR days to whatever he's told the rollers can handle, and then max's it out for the strip. Clever man

don't recall harvey breaking the 600bhp barrier.
The most powerful cars bhp wise are around the 550/600 mark, these are andy f, paul blamire (zen performance), mark aigin (lateral performance), haldor (rcm car).
Mikee Singh has just broken 500bhp. My own car was around the 560mark until I switched to a baby turbo.
Have a look at the subaru totb team. 5 cars in the 10 second bracket and all fo them will be in the 500s
Torque wise I think christian's car held the record at 621lbft (without nitrous).
You also have to take account of the nitrous on or off power figure.
Mark aigin's top speed of 191mph was set without nitrous and I believe makes his the fastest top end wise.
Andy F has done a 10.2 second quarter which counts for something.
there is also the calder impreza which was seriously powerful. Don't think there is a clear winner as many rate their car's ability on the drag strip and don't care for power figures.

Adam,
I'm sure Andy will be chuffed to hear you say that
Fingers crossed, my figures will count for something too
Mark.

What do some of the Rallycross Impreza's put out ? They have to surely be up there in terms of BHP, of course probably not in terms of reliability though
Im sure Per Eklund before he switched to Saab was rallycrossing a twin turbo impreza at some point ?

When I was at Scoobyclinic the other day I saw them preparing a 3 litre unit from an SVX, bored to 3.3 and will be running twin turbo's in an Impreza when it's finished Don't know who it was for, but that's gonna be serious.
