Hi,
Just been out and bought a black scooby wrx wagon (1995) which only arrived in the country tuesday from japan so wont be on he road till next wednesday due to registration etc.....
Only thing is i need some answers lol!Anyone know if the 95 import wrx wagon is definetly a 220hp model?(its not an sti model)
Nice thing is the car has some good sensible mods already like coil overs front and rear, something like a "jamask"??? exhaust rear box, dump valve, hks induction kit and quad headlights. Its also the aero model so has 2 spoilers etc on the boot etc and had the speedo changed to mph.
Thing is whats the best power/performance mods to go for next???

It is 220PS (218BHP); but Id disagree about the pointless dumpvalve and HKS 'induction kit' being sensible modifications, as theyre both useless tat!

The backbox will probs be Jasma, the HKS will be ok as its an early model with a hot wire MAF sensor so not quite so prone to failure, but tbh it is of questionable benefit and the dumpvalve won't serve much purpose if the car is standard(ish).
I would be inclined to source a scoobyecu, mapped for UK fuel, and maybe decat.

Thanks chaps..
Jasma that was it!Are they any good or not?Wheres the best places to buy things like decat pipes/performance bits etc for scoobys?
Im not keen on dump valves so not much of a worry removing that 1 anyway...
Any idea exactly the difference the ecu makes-is it just for minor adjustment of the fuel or does it make a bigger difference because i was thinking of rechipping it rather than an ecu change because i cant see a uk ecu being very easy to "come by"?
Thanks for your time answering my questions,i would much rather take advice from people that know there cars than someone just out to make some money..

Jasma are ok and a lot of the Jap cars seem to come with them fitted- no doubt GC8 Simon will comment on this as he is well up on imports etc.
Check in the scoobynet shop for suppliers of bits.
Scoobyecu - http://www.scoobyecu.co.uk/ - slight increase in boost pressure probably, optimised timing and proper setup for UK fuel as Jap fuel tends to be 100ron as opposed to ours, max 98ish for optimax. Not expensive, and not worth changing your ecu to a UK variant.
Be careful who you listen to on scoobynet, there are some that talk sense, and some that talk ****e. I can fall in to either category depending on the time of day
Bear in mind that maybe only 30% of scoobynet users actually have a subaru.

Thanks for your link RRH.Just been and emailed scoobyecu about getting 1.
So any ideas on exhaust baring in mind at some stage in the near future i wouldnt mind upgrading the performance?
Also anyone got any ideas about fitting a larger "direct swap" turbo if they are available.
Last but not least what makes the hp difference between the uk spec and jap spec wrx?Is it just the ecu or something more?

Your TD04 is good for 280BHP which is enough fo rmost people; if you need to pump more air then Andy Forrest offers a TD04 based hybrid whicll still spool up quickly but can move enough air for about 350BHP IIRC. I wouldnt bother with the ScoobyECU as they are really only for TD05 equipped Saloons; consider an A'Pexi PowerFC replacement ECU, from Andy Forrest again, fitted and mapped for £750.....
