No need just run off boost for a few minutes before stopping.
New age scoobs continue to cool the turbo when stopped using the engine coolant anyway.

Can I stop telling my missus to idle my 2005 WRX for a minute before switching off then?

they're pretty easy to remove (60secs tops) in case of accidents...

i have one but hardly ever use it because at idle oil flow/pressure is pretty low anyway, cooling is at a minimum so you're better driving off boost for a few minutes.

also don't think you can hammer the nuts off your car and leave it for 45seconds and it'll be cool. scoobies have turbo heat shields but if you have owned other cars with turbos you'll know that a *good* hammering (even standard) can make a turbo glow yellow, and i can tell you you'll need more than 45s to get that baby back to black...
