Turbo timers....
Just wandered who has and who hasnt got a turbo timer and your opinions on them?
Also if you have one how long have you got yours set to?
Ive got an hks timer which i run for 1 minute but just wandered how long people set theres for?

i find mine a help as i run 4 cars, so quiet often jump out and just switch off without thinking but with the tt it keeps running. mine is set for 30 secs but work the time out on its own normaly about 1.30-1.50

i have one an used to let car rundown for bout 20 seconds but was told by my local tuning company they can do more harm than good sometimes, also my next door neighbour kept complaining that his wine glasses on his glass shelf would vibrate till they got close to falling of edge an if i carried on he would inform mr plod needless to say i no longer use it just do as others have said mate drive the car of boost for 5 mins an should be ok

they're pretty easy to remove (60secs tops) in case of accidents...
i have one but hardly ever use it because at idle oil flow/pressure is pretty low anyway, cooling is at a minimum so you're better driving off boost for a few minutes.
also don't think you can hammer the nuts off your car and leave it for 45seconds and it'll be cool. scoobies have turbo heat shields but if you have owned other cars with turbos you'll know that a *good* hammering (even standard) can make a turbo glow yellow, and i can tell you you'll need more than 45s to get that baby back to black...
