I Go Away For a Few Days And Look What Happens!
#1
Hi peeps.
I have just returned to the bbs after a couple of days leave, and feel that I should reply to those comments made regarding the 'Open Face Helmet' thread.
I found the picture on another site, where it claimed to be the result of an accident involving a motorcyclist wearing an open-faced helmet. I had no reason to disbelieve it.
It was posted with an apt title, and very clear warnings regarding the pictures content. I was very disturbed when I first saw it, and expected everyone that saw it to feel the same. As a result, I will NEVER wear an open-faced helmet, whether it was real or not. Several people use open-faced helmets on this bbs. Therefore, I feel the topic had a place on this bbs.
I do not have children, and perhaps did not consider that children may well find the link and see the picture. However, I do not consider that there is anything of any interest to children to be found on Scoobynet in the first place, and cannot see what any child would gain by having access to it. I am aware that programs such as 'Net Nanny' exist and would surely not allow the link given it's address. For those of you that are concerned about what your kids see on the net this seems like a worthwile consideration.
I apologise to anyone that was offended by the link, and have not taken any comments personally.
I stand by my decision to post the topic though.
Stef.
