Default Whos has a weekend Scooby

Seriously considering getting second car now for a runabout and keeping the Scoob tucked away for the weekends/shows/meets.

Just wondering how many of you do this..

Yup, did 58000 in my scoob in 30 months. Its been in bits for the last 11 months, and when its back together, i suspect it will be lucky if it turns a wheel each week.

I bought an MG ZR TD and the money i saved in fuel for the scoob, paid for £5000k finance on the MG, as well as paying for the fuel for it, and insurance.

Now the mods on the get serious.

I used to use my 205 as my everyday car but since it went to Germany the scoob is my everyday car for the 3/4 mile trip to work, unless I walk of course

I bought a fiat marea dead cheap when the scoob's blew and had the idea of keeping it for use during the week, was fine during the winter but summer it gets frustrating, got a williams clio for during the week now so can have at leat a bit of retro fun, can't get rid of the damn fiat though, anyone want a gold Marea (why did I get that colour!!!!)

Sort of the same for me, I've also got an Alfa - which is my fun / project / everyday car (yes really) and a MY99. I find having two cars has many benefits - not the least of which is that you come to appreciate the good points of both and the bad points are easily forgotten - provide they don't get too bad. I work from home so there is no regular commuting so I can (just about) afford two relatively thirsty cars.

Total waste keeping a good car in the garage for the weekends - look at how they are selling, and how much they depreciate by! For those who want to keep a low mileage on their car - WHY? Just so you can get a few hundred quid when you come to sell it? Madness. Get out there and enjoy the damn thing!

It's not just the mileage. I've used to drive mine to work each day on the motorway. Put 10,000 miles on it in 6 months - not a big deal. What was a big deal however were the stone chips etc that I was picking up. I now get the train and just use the car for weekends. Amazing how few stone chips it's picking up now. Also a 1st/2nd gear crawl during the week just burning up the clutch etc isn't quite as enjoyable as a proper drive at the weekend so not exactly missed.
