Question URGENT HELP ....Lost car keys/Immobiliser

Long story, but had keys lifted from me today. Came back to find the car still there, but stereo gone and a few other bits. Must have been kids because they missed other bits, but the main thing is they couldnt start the car because uckily I have a second immobiliser fitted that they couldnt find.So the car was still there but no keys or way of driving it home.Plus i had four kids with me all screaming to get home.
Green flag came and pput me on low loader to home.
Now the tricky part. I have second key set, but the standard subaru immobiliser fob does not work.I have changed the battery but it seems dead, so even though i can lock the car using the spare key, i cannot disable the immobiliser. So anyone please have a way or some good ideas how i can either bypass the immobiliser or find some way to start the car.

Car is MY00 classic .Alarm i think (it says on the window) SerpiStar.
Key fob on the main key set was square, about size of a 9 volt battery with 2 buttons on it.

Thx in advance

Keypad in Glovebox...You should have a 4 digit code for the immobiliser...punch that in and away you go

Its fixed in the Glovebox.....Its only small....I thought at first iy was to do with the fuses.....but its the immobiliser override....4 digit code should be with your manual that came with the car....If not contact local dealer and give him vin number and they should contact Subaru for you......Happened to me in Norfolk last year...Phoned Tileys in Bristol and they got back to me with the override code enabling me to take it into Norwich to get a new KeyFob.

That doesn't sound like a description of the standard fit alarm system...... in which case you may not have the key pad......
sorry, but i have no idea what you can do!

Hi
Cliff and I have searched everywhere in the glovebox. he even took apart the plastic parts to the top of the box, but all we can see are wires. I should have pointed out that the car is a euro import (still classed as a UK model), but that may mean a slightly different glovebox i dunno just grasping at straws here.

Try looking in the coin tray - On the driver's side, above the bonnet release catch - I've seen the keypad in there on a couple of cars.

Failing that - you'll have to just follow the wiring back

Good luck
Richard

I think u only only have a key pad in your glove box if u have a subaru fitted alarm, the key fob is black with blue and subaru written on it with one botton to lock/unlock.

I expect you are right......but was hoping that the sticker on the window could be wrong.......However a mate has the same sort of key layout but I am sure his keypad is in the glovebox.

It's clearly not a 'Subaru' alarm.. so going to a dealer will get you no-where... you'll need to get an alarm installer to sort it out.. might even mean fitting a new alarm...??

Inside the immobiliser unit there will be a code (usually printed on a sticker but could be stamped into the plastic housing) , take this to an alarm specialist and they will be able to order a new keyfob

Hope this helps

Talking

guys
ok it is late now and all efforts have proved unsuccessul. It seems that although i have the fob that does central locking and my second immobiliser, the problem is this after market serpi star one. and since a second fob for it was never supplied then i am slightly B***ered.
So my only options are: to try and bypass the immobiliser for a temporary solution or wait until i can get a replacement/new system installed.

But i just wanted to say a big thank you first to you cliff for taking time out tonight to come out to me and for all your help (i owe you big time) and a big thank you to all you guys for your helpful comments and advice at such a late hour.

never cease to be amazed at how helpful the lot on here are.so thanks again.

maybe the wycombe lot will have even more advice tomorrow..though probably more sarky comments i bet

My oo classic has a serpi star fitted with square key fob. Top left button is lock and unlock and top right button is panic alarm. I only have one fob and the touch key overide for immobiliser doesn't work so if I lose fob I'm in the doo doo. Don't think I have keypad either!

Scoob main dealer, you may have to go in and SHOW you own the car, they will give you the override.

But I reckon that now, no V5, no override.

Thats right you have a aftermarket alarm, the alarm fitted at factory is Sigma. You will need to speak to a company who supply and fit serpi star.
