Question WRX RA

Hi, any info on these would be much appreciated!!

i have searched but there is too many different models to make sense of!!

seen one im interested in and going to take a look i think!(93/94car)
should it have a numbered plaque somewhere?
are the brakes 2pot or 4?
am i right in guessing no EW,EM,AIRCON,rear spoiler and is there anything else missing?
do they have a different engine code that i could check??
what power are they as standard?
How many were made?
whats the 0-60 and 0-100 and 1/4 mile times for standard cars

thanks for any help, i just want to make sure it is a RA and not just a badged wrx!

Most RA's are white for a start, no spoiler as standard but may have had one put on, 2 pit brakes, no abs, no ew, although mine did have aircon. They look like this (my old one) and go like **** off a shovel

A 1993/1994 RA will not have a numbered plaque, it was a full production model and substantially cheaper than the equivalent years WRX; production was only limited by how many FHI could sell..... These production years had a closed deck block and a close ratio gearbox mwith a shorter final drive: the brakes are quite crap, in keeping with other 1993 Imprezas. Power will be 240PS which is similar to the WRX. Virtually all 93/94 RAs wont have a rear spoiler but air conditioning will be found on most of them. The first cars didnt have foglights or stereos and a lot of sound deadening was deleted along with the side mouldings: most cars will have a stereo and foglight covers now though. The cars weighed about 30kgs less than the equivalent WRX without any options fitted. They can be identified by checking the Applied Model number which will be GC8A47D/GC8B47D for the 93/94 cars; a WRX would be a 48D.

I added black diamond front discs and red stuff pads and the brakes were excellent, so 4 pots really aren't needed, remember lighter car doesn't need such good brakes.

Ive seen ****-piles where the vendors have been asking silly money and good honest cars offered for less than £4,000. I wouldnt ever pay a premium for what was the economy model in the range though.....

Not much I'd imagine mate! It's only about 30kgs lighter than a MY99. An MY99 with 250-260bhp, should be capable of a sub 5 to 60 and similar 30-70. A RA might feel quicker owing to the shorter gearing and bigger turbo (td05?) but in terms of outright performance I'd have thought they'll be very similar.

The 0-60 time is substantially faster if youre talking about an early (93/94) light car (as in: no options fitted weighing it down). They only have 240PS but they have close ratio gears and a mental 4.111:1 final drive ratio.....
